I recommend you do not go straight in (pun not intended) a fantasy is 1 thing, the actual deal is another. No amount of thinking will get you prep for the real thing so take baby steps.

1) Talk about it openly. Talk again.
2) Introduce someone into your sessions. No touching, no participation. Just get yourself used to another person being there.
3) Same room sex with another couple. Again no touching or participation with the other couple.
4) Soft Swing. Swapping to touch or oral sex.
5) Full Swap. Everything goes.

You can combine some steps depending on comfort and chemistry but skipping steps is not ideal.

I've been swinging with various partners for many years now. Seen too many couples break-up because they took a step they thought they were ready for.
