Actually, she can start work same as Michelle H02 (17 Jan. 2012). But she opted to start in February since 23 Jan. which is 1 week after of her supposed start is also 1st day of CNY.

So, being the smart and practical girl that she is, she might as well sit the whole thing out instead of working on the 17th only to go back again after a few days for CNY celebrations.

Makes sense to me.
