Yes it’s very common. Happened to that Simon Chen guy from HK who worked in the British consulate, went to Shenzhen for a meeting and decided to get a massage - I bet he was being followed n they used this an a means to detain him for two weeks.
HK is screwed. There’s nothing now to differentiate it from the PRC, they just want to keep calling it different as most of the property there is owned by the PRC rich.
