You can be set up easy in ST hotels
Your own hotel can protect you.
Travelling 500 metres down the road can be really scary in most place of manila. With mothers crossing road to shove their baby In your face, kids surrounding you and pulling your pants.
And road side seller insist you take cheap watch, if you refuse, they drop on floor and demand you pay damage (latest scam to hit Malate...) and if you refuse, swing arm to fight you for destroying their watch.
Better safe, engage in room order for clean.
Otherwise also better lock things in your room and get girl over
If you are street smart, travelled around, don't look very foreigner, and speak bit tagalog, then above don't matter. I easily get picked as foreigner even with I am so fugly.. I seen like 5 kids dash through traffic to catch me for donation..

Other cities not bad, some city safe for me to travel jeepney .. Never in Manila
