hatyai worst bombing was only recently last yr n the previous yr. before that bombing are only @ train station.

if really bomb we all also cannot escape. the shopping area is small any where they also can put bomb.

Stayed at Regency (new wing), JB (bit way off town centre), BP Suites and New Seasons.

Personal preference's still New Seasons. Not only it's newer, but also more personalised service (than bigger Regency). Best, got free broadband ensuite (in room) for those who need their daily sbf fix hehehe. Good bathroom, 5mins walk from centre. BP Suites similiar price range, but room bit tatty (bad window view of some stupid neighbouring wall). Dec 2005, Regency did not have hot water due to floods (travel agent switched me to BP Suites). But Regency was ok with hot water in Feb last year.

Understand JB was THE hotel years ago, with price range 1200-1300 offered on some on-line webbie (my 1st trip paid 1300 knn). In-house disco closed late last year? With shopping annexe. Famous fishball noodle kopitiam opposite. But seriously not worth premium, as lobby + coffee house look worn out. Free shuttle to/fro airport at gazetted times.

LG, never stayed. Bang on centre, but not keen on busy shopping mall crowds (may bump into your uncle, aunty hehehe) and dun like separate floor to get to lobby.

Novotel is IT, if you got budget ard 1300? Pool, only business/international looking hotel in Hdy (in my opinion) with nice restaurant to wine and dine.

Yea agree with you YY. better choice will be New Season since they have internet. moreover after 7-11 is NS not very far to LGP. As for regency they have no hotwater when i was there.

JB hehehe very long liao when i was there in 93/94 it already there.

I stay Novotel before it really nice but slightly x. pay ard 1600 or 1800 when i never book a room during the holiday season.

normally im not so particular about hotel in bkk cos i rather spend the $$$ in apnam instead of hotel so i stay in watanna. apnam near by lol :D spend less time in the hotel room when in bkk hehehe

but in hdy i rather stay in good n nice hotel. cos i spend most of my time in the hotel watching TV show with the girl lol. Sometime i feel like staying in SKY area cos i miss the days when me n my friends first cheong hdy in 90s.

there is more than 1 attempt to bomb lee garden. The year before the bomb went of they found the bomb before it exploded. Of course, this was not reported as they do not want to scare anyone. Bottom line is, Lee Garden is a prime target for bombings.

Haha bro i was there last aug are u that samster :p My Friend got it out so i took from him. will trasfer to u if we meet 1 day as i always go tcss with lao da YY.

Bro u lucky man i went there ard march last year bo hot water damm tu lan then last yr aug heard from some samster stay there also bo hot water so i would skip regency for good. will try BP on my up coming trip hopefully have space or else back to golden crown or sakura.

Compared with bkk, hdy's hotel rates are a steal. You spending more time in hot water tub than bkk htl la.:p SKY? Merlin's cheap, my view is forget it (no offence to budget bros). Room sucks with only water heater in bathroom. Pay a bit more to get Garden Home (easy for KL...):D
