Such scam is not new. There are several other types of scams as well, including SYT pretending to ask for help but later her "boyfriend" appears and extorts money from the victim, or SYT inviting victim to have fun at shady karaoke joint which later issues a hefty bill for payment, etc. I used to work in SH for several years and personally encountered such scam attempt before but did not take the bait. The perpetrators usually target their victims (single or in small group of 2 or 3) at tourist areas such as Xintiandi, Nanjing Lu Buxinjie and even Wai Tan. So be circumspect at all times.

Was in SH a few weeks back. Went to a shop sort of diagonally behind the apple store. Lvl 1 Narrow corridors with a plump botak chinese man manning it. Ladies are on the 2nd floor. Rmb 500 massage nothing sensual.
